Ride through tea plantations, quaint fishing villages, and swathes of lush green jungle on this cycling adventure from Negombo to Colombo. Sri Lanka is gaining traction as one of Asia’s most exciting new destinations and it’s not hard to see why. With pristine coastline, ancient ruins, rugged peaks and wildlife-filled national parks, it’s a dream for travellers who like to get active. In between two-wheeled treks, laze on the beach, ride the rails (a must in Sri Lanka), explore the country’s premier Hindu and Buddhist sites, and taste the flavours of the tantalising night markets
DAY 01
Dinner & overnight stay in Negombo
Arrival, welcome by a representative of Lanka Tour Host and transfer to Hotel.
Test runs for the bikes in readiness for the tour.
DAY 02
Dinner & overnight stay in Sigiriya
After breakfast start biking towards Sigiriya. (Distance about 80 - 85 km)
Route will be through vast Coconut Estates, Paddy Fields with the vegetation changing gradually from the wet zone to the dry zone, Shifting Cultivation (traditional form of "slash and burn cultivation") along cart tracks, undeveloped trails, a small distance on developed roads. Load as you approach Dambulla but those who are desirous can continue.
En route visit the Dambulla Cave Temple considered being the largest painted caves in the world with more than 22,000 sq ft of painted surfaces with many paintings, sculptures, statues of Lord Buddha, his disciples, Kings, Gods etc.
DAY 03
Dinner & overnight stay in Girithale
Early morning climb the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, a World Heritage Site
After late breakfast leave for Giritale.
The route will be muddy tracks, paved roads, occasional tarred roads, dry zone jungles, Teak Plantations, Paddy Fields .This will be entirely on flat land.
DAY 04
Dinner & overnight stay in Girithale
After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa - the Medieval Capital of Sri Lanka - 11th Century AD
The route will be as the same as of previous day.
In Polonnaruwa, visit the historical monuments scattered in the ancient city area by cycle in the process traveling along the dam of the huge "Parakrama Samudra - the Sea of Parakarama”, by vehicle
DAY 05
Dinner & overnight stay in Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy - “The Hill Capital” via the off the beaten track route passing agricultural areas in Elahera and Bakamoona , in the eastern slopes of the Knuckles Range of Mountains passing Riverstone - an amazing creation of mother nature - a cooler climate of fantastic proportions with in a dry zone climate.
As the distance is going to be long, they can pack up whenever they desire.
Walk into a Spice Garden and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the froth and use of spices in the day to day life.
In the evening watch a Cultural Performance by traditional Kandyan Dancers and Drummers including devotional” Fire Walking" and walk across in the star lit night to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha - by far the most important place of worship for Buddhists world over.
DAY 06
Dinner & overnight stay in Ramboda
After breakfast leave for a City Tour including the Upper Lake Drive - a place where one could have a bird's eye view of the city below, the Royal Botanical Gardens - one of the best of its kind in Asia with more than 5000 species of different varieties of flora which incidentally was the Headquarters of Lord Louise Mountbatten - the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during the 2nd World War, a Gem Museum - to see how the valuable gems that you see on a shop shelf are turned out from a raw stone with the back ground history.
DAY 07
Dinner & overnight stay in Ella
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya – “Little England”
The route will be surrounded by hills covered with tea, terraced paddy fields, remote villages etc. amidst breathtakingly beautiful landscapes.
Pick up from Ramboda and transfer to Ella by vehicle.
Visit a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world famous "Ceylon Tea" and to taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea before being sent to the Tea Auctions in Colombo leading to export.
DAY 08
Dinner & overnight stay in Udawalawe
After breakfast proceed to visit Ella City Tour by Bicycle. Afternoon proceed to Udawalawe. Undertake a Jeep Safari of the Udawalawe National Park mainly to see wild elephants.
Route will be on hilly areas - on very good tarred roads but with less traffic for most of the time.
DAY 09
Dinner & overnight stay in Galle
After breakfast head out to Galle.

Dinner & overnight stay in Galle
After breakfast proceed to Galle city tour by Bicycle. Visit Galle fort and Jungle beach in Unawatuna.
DAY 11
Dinner & overnight stay in Colombo
After breakfast proceed to Colombo, En Rote visit Hikkaduwa beach, Tsunami museum and Turtle Hatchery. In Evening proceed to Colombo city Tour by Bicycle.
DAY 12
Safe Journey
After breakfast proceed to Colombo City Tour and Shopping. Transfer to Airport.
